We are now looking for several Mechanical engineers to the R&D department that will work with product development on HVDC and SVC converter valves. The team is responsible for the mechanical design, prototype and verification tests, product development, simulation and calculation on the converter valves.

Key Responsibilities:

New Product Development: Dive into exciting projects focusing on valve mechanical design tasks, navigating multi-disciplinary areas such as heat transfer, electrical insulation, strength of materials, and cutting-edge manufacturing technologies.

Cross-Functional Oversight: Lead Design for Assembly/Manufacturing (DFA/DFM) efforts for new product development, ensuring seamless collaboration across various R&D projects.

Risk Mitigation: Perform DFMEA to proactively identify and address potential challenges, preventing unnecessary roadblocks in future product development.

Mechanical Design Expertise: Execute mechanical design for converter valve components, including design calculations, preparation of design specifications, and crafting technical documents.

CAD Mastery: Showcase your proficiency in 3D-CAD modeling, preferably in the NX environment, by creating detailed models, drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOM).

️ Verification Tests: Participate in a spectrum of product verification tests, from early prototype testing to the final validation of converter valve design.

Product Lifecycle Perspective: Bring a holistic view to the design process by considering aspects like reliability, safety, maintainability, tooling, and manufacturing requirements throughout the product lifecycle.

Requirements:

Educational Background: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering.

Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience within Mechanical Design and new Product Development.

Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of mechanical core competencies, material selection, manufacturing methods, GD&T, and basic understanding of electrical technology.

Electromechanical Experience: Previous experience in electromechanical design within the electric power industry or the design of high voltage products is highly valuable.

️ Software Proficiency: Strong skills in 3D-CAD modeling, preferably in the NX environment. Basic understanding of FEM and Ansys/Abaqus.

️ PLM and SAP Knowledge: Working knowledge of Team Center PLM system and SAP.

Language Skills: Fluent in English (written and spoken), proficiency in Swedish is advantageous.
