OUR CLIENT
Our client, who is a global and world leading actor within their domain, strongly believe in the long-term sustainability of HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) technology. This technology facilitates energy transfer with direct current at high voltages, making it suitable for transmitting energy over long distances and connecting electricity networks with minimal losses. In addition to energy transfer, HVDC technology addresses electricity quality issues and contributes to the stabilization of connected power grids. For offshore wind power or long-distance underwater transmissions, direct current is the most realistic energy transmission alternative.

As a Software Engineer working with our client, you will be part of a Global HVDC Control & Protection Software team. The team handles Converter Control, Protection, System Solutions, Sequence & Interlocking, System Supervision & System Communication, Auxiliary Power Systems, and Simulation & Verification. They collaborate with other domains within Control & Protection, IT/OT, Hardware, and Operations. With the increasing demand for Engineers in this area, we are seeking individuals like you to join there team.

Your responsibilities:

- Contribute to all phases of delivery, including design, maintenance, testing, integration, verification, and deployment of software functions for safe and reliable plant and transmission link operations

- Work with documentation and customer training

- Demonstrate a sense of responsibility and ownership by planning and organizing your daily work

- Solve challenges proactively with stakeholders

In this position you will also have the opportunity to travel internationally for short assignments to the sites of our client, for commissioning and customer meetings

Your background:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, High Voltage, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering

- Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Additional languages, such as Swedish, are advantageous

- Interest or experience in software development and programming

- Interest or experience in digital control technology, signal processing, and filtering

- Interest or experience in the electric power industry

Location: Ludvika with the possibility to work partly remote after 6 months

Availability: Start date as soon as possible with an understanding of the notice period

Employment type: You will work as a consultant for 12 months before you have the opportunity to transition to employment with our client
