AND WHAT IS OPERATIONS?
Operations is the part of Axis’ organization that is responsible for the industrialization, supply and distribution of our products. This includes Purchasing, Order Handling, Production, Sourcing, Production Preparation, Sales & Operations Planning, Quality & Environment, and Logistics. Today we are approximately 260 persons within Operations. Based in Lund, we interact with other Axis departments and a worldwide network of customers, distributors, suppliers, manufacturing partners, and our configuration and logistics centers. Apart from delivering what is needed to today’s market, we are currently working hard to prepare for the significant growth projected in the coming years. We are on a journey into an even more digitized world, and this does not only include harnessing digitalization, but also fine-tuning our global footprint and supplier relations as well as improving and developing our processes.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
We are currently in the process of establishing an Operations Innovation Lab . This is where we will stimulate, evaluate, grow, improve and disseminate innovation in our Operations organization. The focus is on the organizational aspect of innovation: pure product innovation is already carefully addressed at Axis. The goal is to make sure that we, trough innovation, are in the right position, have the right skills, technologies, people, tools, mindsets, processes, organization et cetera to reap the full potential of our markets in the coming years. We are looking for new talents that can participate in, shape and lead this journey. Therefore, we are now looking for an Operations Innovation Manager that will lead this effort.
You will be given the full responsibility to establish and organize our new Operations Innovation Lab. We have already designed a draft setup of the lab but not initiated its business – there is still room for your creativity and experiences to influence how things should be done. In your role, you will interact with our Operations organization, the rest of Axis and our global supply chain. As the Operations Innovation Manager, you will work closely with a number of stakeholders: you need to fully understand their issues, create and implement strategies for change, and turn potential into performance. You will stimulate innovation in general, and will drive and support ideas from the first tentative sketches to full implementation of winning concepts. You will be fully responsible for driving our portfolio of innovation projects and initiatives.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
This is a really tough question – we have to be honest and confess that we have never recruited to this kind of role before. You probably have some kind of university education, e.g. in engineering, management, behavioral sciences, or software development. Or something else. Perhaps you graduated a few years ago or have refined your skills and experiences for many years. Maybe you are an entrepreneur who would like to try what it is like to work in and change a somewhat bigger organization? If you find the role interesting and know that you can contribute to building our tomorrow, then you could be person that we are looking for!
Regardless of your background, we are above all looking for your passion and drive. Someone who is ambitious and social: teamwork and collaboration are essential to your success at Axis. In addition, you are structured and analytical. You can work independently but at the same time you successfully collaborate across organizational and cultural borders. You make an impact through people. To be successful in this role you need strong communication skills: professional proficiency in both Swedish and English are absolute requirements, additional languages a benefit. You enjoy and excel at developing and maintaining relationships with colleagues, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders. You understand the strategic big picture and how to translate it into daily work, i.e. you thrive in an environment where you plan your own activities, drive initiatives and takes full responsibility for the result.
